Federal and local authorities say they have seized hundreds of counterfeit sports items in Las Vegas as part of a nationwide sting and arrested two people.
Police took 31-year-old Mustafa Ahmadi and 29-year-old Sonia Qudrat into custody as part of the sting.
'Operation Red Zone,' a nationwide crackdown on the sale of counterfeit sports merchandise and apparel, is responsible for the seized items. They were being offered for sale at two downtown Las Vegas kiosks, and included approximately 600 phony NFL logos and more than six dozen knockoff sports jerseys, as well as T-shirts and hoodies bearing counterfeit logos for the NFL, Major League Baseball and the National Basketball Association.
