Photo Gallery | Thrift Store Benefiting Veterans Opens

A local nonprofit officially opened the doors of its new thrift store, to benefit local veterans and their families.

The 33,000-square-foot Veterans Village Thrift Store at 6029 West Charleston Boulevard offers refurbished and re-merchandised items from several local corporations and retailers.

The money raised in the thrift store will go to Veterans Village, which provides temporary housing and resources for veterans and their families.

"These guys gave so much and they don't really expect that much. They expect so little, but whatever they get is great. To see people going out of their way to help them, that to me says: 'Hey, we're Americans. We hang together.'" said Francisco Ramirez a U.S. Navy Veteran.

All veterans of the U.S. armed forces receive a 10 percent discount on purchases.
