Vegas StrEATs Festival Saturday Night

El Cortez Hotel & Casino will host the second Vegas StrEATs food-truck festival on the Jackie Gaughan Parkway from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Saturday night.

Vegas StrEATs will become an official monthly event at the El Cortez to be held on the second Saturday of each month. Food trucks participating in the event include:

  • Slidin' Thru
  • Fukuburger
  • Sloppi Jo's
  • Tasty Bunz
  • Curbside Café
  • Snow Ono Shave Ice
  • Island Breeze
  • Cheesesteak Truck

Presented by El Cortez, Slidin' Thru and Insert Coin(s) VideoLounge Gamebar, Vegas StrEATs will bring food, live art and music to the Fremont East Entertainment District. Drink specials throughout the festival include $2 Bud and Bud Light draughts, $3 Jameson Irish Whiskey shots, $3 Jagermeister shots and $2 Pepsi products.

Hash House A Go Go Hosts its Third Annual Corned Beef Eating Contest

On Thursday, March 17th, 8 Las Vegas Residents will be part of the St. Patrick's Day Festivities by taking part in the corned beef eating contest. People are welcome to come and cheer people on as they try to finish 1.5 pounds of corned beef and a 1/4 cabbage in 15 minutes. Whomever finished first, of finishes the most, will be the winner.

For those who are not competeting but still would like to celebrate, the restaurant will feature Irish-themed food and drink specials throughout the day including a special St. Patrick’s Day Lucky Charms pancake, stuffed corned beef sandwich, Irish coffee, Irish Snake Bite and several others. Happy hour at the Sahara location will take place from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. featuring $2 green beer and complimentary mini Hash House corned beef sandwiches and homemade potato chips. The first 50 people to arrive for happy hour will receive their first beer free.

This week, March 7th- 14th, is National Pancake Week! Hash House a Go-Go is celebrating by offering 3 specialty types of pancakes, housemade Irish oatmeal, butterscotch chip and almond. A portion of the proceeds from the specialty pancakes will be going to the St. Baldrick's Foundation, which helps fund promising research into childhood cancers. The pancakes will be available at all 3 of the Hash House locations in the valley this week.

This Sunday, three street food trucks, Slidin' Thru, Fuku Burger, and LBS Patty Wagon will be having a showdown to determine which truck can claim ultimate burger supremacy here in Las Vegas! The throwdown will be happening outside of Studio 21 Tattoo Gallery, 6020 W Flamingo Rd, and will run from 6pm to 10pm. Come cheer on your favorite!
