Lottery for Food Truck Spots Downtown Now Open

The city of Las Vegas is opening the lottery for three downtown parking spots to be used by food trucks.

Those interested in getting the spots must register by 5 p.m. Monday, July 22. The lottery will take place Monday, July 29 at Las Vegas City Hall.

This is a pilot program that allows food trucks to park at three different spots on a rotating basis. Those spots are:

  • 100 Bonneville Avenue, which is near the Bonneville Transit Center
  • 400 block of South Third Street, which is near the Regional Justice Center
  • 1 Lewis Avenue, which is near Las Vegas City Hall

Food truck operators must have a city of Las Vegas business license to be eligible for the lottery. A license can be obtained online at lasvegasnevada.gov/business or by calling (702) 229-6281.

The paperwork for the lottery and a $50 non-refundable registration fee can be filed at the city's Parking Services Department, which is located on the ground floor of the city hall parking garage, 500 S. Main Street, or with the city's Business Services Division, which is located on the sixth floor of the Development Services Center, 333 North Rancho Drive.

For more information, people can call parking service's manager Brandy Stanley at (702) 229-6863.
