Hoggard Students Open Museum
Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) students at Mabel Hoggard Magnet School will open Friday morning their “Explore” museum.
Two years in the making, this museum will feature nine exhibits, including fossils, rocks, and antiques and displays about Mark Twain, Hoover Dam, the Nevada Test Site and more. The museum will be a special teaching and learning resource for all grade levels.
The museum is funded by a grant from Nevada Humanities. This year’s fourth-grade GATE students and last year’s fifth-grade GATE students were assisted by a team of adult volunteers.
