City of Las Vegas Offers Summer Camps for Kids

 

Open registration starts April 11 for the City of Las Vegas' summer youth camps.

The camps are available at six area community centers and are open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., starting June 10.

The camps offer age-appropriate activities, including field trips, sports, physical fitness, arts, crafts and nutrition training. All camps are supervised by trained staff.

Two community centers, Mirabelli and Veterans Memorial Leisure Services, will offer themed week-long specialty camps. For most camps, the cost is $115 per child for the week and $110 for additional children. A few camps will be higher priced.

There will be a preferred walk-in registration at Mirabelli Community Center for families who were registered at the center's camps last year. That registration will start at 5 p.m. April 11. Click here to see the specialty list for Mirabelli.

Veterans Memorial Leisure Services Center will distribute numbered registration packets for the camps it offers starting at 8 a.m. April 11. Registration will start at 5 p.m. at the center that evening. Click here to see specialty list for Veterans.

Four community centers offer summer camps starting at $75 per child for the week; $70 for additional children in the family.

  • Cimarron Rose Community Center, 5591 N. Cimarron Road, (702) 229-1607. Ages 6-11 only. Camp ends Aug. 23.
  • Doolittle Community Center, 1950 N. J St., (702) 229-6374. Ages 6-15. Camp ends Aug. 16.
  • East Las Vegas Community Center, 250 N. Eastern Ave., (702) 229-1515. Ages 6-15. Camp ends Aug. 16.
  • Stupak Community Center, 251 W. Boston Ave., (702) 229-2488. Ages 6-15. Camp ends Aug. 16.

The East Las Vegas Community Center will offer a summer program for youth ages 7 to 22 with disabilities from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, from June 10 through August 16.

Participant will get a new recreational experience every week from community outings to movies and arts and crafts. The cost is $75 per child a week, $70 for each additional child.

Registration for that program will be from 8 a.m. to noon, Saturday, April 13.
