YMCA Offers Free Summer Meals

The YMCA of Southern Nevada is helping fill the gap left by the schools being closed for the summer. The Y is offering free meals and snacks for kids under 18 through the Department of Agriculture’s Summer Food Service Program.

The YMCA has partnered with the Walmart Foundation. The foundation gave the program a $22,500 grant to address childhood hunger in southern Nevada. That money is being used to make sure more kids have access to the summer food program. Around the country, an estimated 21 million children lose access to free or reduced-cost meals during the summer.

There will be free lunches available at these YMCA locations Monday through Friday:

  • Heinrich YMCA, 4141 Meadows Lane
  • Serving 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Durango Hills YMCA, 3521 N. Durango Dr.
  • Serving 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • SkyView YMCA, 3050 E. Centennial Parkway
  • Serving Noon to 2 p.m.
