Man dodges busy I-15 traffic trying to elude police

LAS VEGAS — A man wanted by police played a bit of real-life Frogger across a busy Interstate 15 during rush-hour traffic on Thursday evening.

Police said undercover officers were following the man near Desert Inn and Paradise when the suspect took off, but police did not begin a chase.

The suspect was no match for Metro's air unit, which saw the car on US 95 trying to get onto southbound I-15. That's when his car reportedly hit several others cars. Police say he tried to squeeze by on the shoulder, but gave up and hopped out and into traffic.

From there, police said the man made a run for it across northbound lanes of I-15 and into a parking lot near the World Market Place.

Officers were able to catch up with the man and used a stun gun on him.

Police said he is in custody.

It's unknown why police were following him.
