Police release more details about suspect in deadly shooting

LAS VEGAS -- Metro Police have released more information about the man they are looking for in connection with an attempted robbery and deadly shooting of a woman.

Police say the man who was armed with a gun is a young black man between 16 and 20 years old. He is between 5 foot 6 and 5 foot 7 and between 120 and 130 pounds. He has a dark complexion and a thin build. He has dark, short, tightly curled hair.

He was last seen wearing a bright red pullover hoodie with small white writing across the chest. He was wearing black basketball shorts and dark tennis shoes, which might have been Converse brand.

Police are looking for the man in connection with the shooting of 22-year-old Laura Ashley McKinney.

McKinney and a friend were walking on Simmons Street near Vegas Drive and North Rancho Drive at around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday night when they were confronted by three young men.

The men demanded McKinney's belongings and during the robbery, one of the suspects shot her in the chest, police said.

The second person police are looking for is described as a black man between 18 and 19 years old. He is between 5 foot 9 and 5 foot 10 and between 130 and 140 pounds. This suspect was wearing a dark blue or black hoodie and dark blue jeans.

The third suspect is a black man between 16 and 18 years old. He is about 5 foot 6 and weighs between 130 and 140 pounds. He has a dark complexion and dreadlock-style hair that was long enough to reach his eyebrows. That suspect was wearing a dark gray hoodie with dark blue or black sleeves and dark blue, baggy jeans.
