LAS VEGAS (AP) -- Officials say a judge was hit by a car while walking to work at the Clark County Regional Justice Center.

Court spokeswoman Mary Ann Price says Judge Linda Bell was struck about 7:30 a.m. Friday in a crosswalk on Clark Street. Price says Bell was taken to the hospital.

Court staff were told the judge did not suffer any internal bleeding, just bumps and bruises.

Price says the suspect vehicle had out-of-state plates and was driving the wrong way.

Price described Bell as a great judge and a crucial person in court operations.
