Topping-Out Ceremony Held at New Federal Justice Tower

A topping-out ceremony was held Wednesday for the new 11-story Federal Justice Tower being built downtown.

The tower is part of the new corridor of federal buildings along Las Vegas Boulevard near Clark Street, which includes the Lloyd George Federal Courthouse.

The building will house several government offices, including the Department of Homeland Security U.S. Immigration, U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Nevada, Department of Labor Office of Inspector General and Federal Protective Services.

When finished, the building will be about 140,000 square feet of space and provide office space for about 300.

The topping-out is when the last beam of a building is placed at the top of the building. The ceremony held Wednesday also marks the halfway point of construction for the tower.
