Rizzolo's Bid for Appeal Denied by Federal Court
News

LAS VEGAS (AP) -- Former Las Vegas strip club owner Rick Rizzolo lost a bid to overturn his nine-month federal prison sentence for violating terms of supervised release following a tax evasion
conviction.

A trio of San Francisco-based 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals judges who heard oral arguments March 19 in Las Vegas issued a written decision Tuesday upholding the sentence imposed by Senior U.S. District Judge Philip Pro.

Pro concluded Rizzolo deceived probation officers and failed to make restitution to a Kansas tourist who was paralyzed in a scuffle with Crazy Horse Too bouncers in 2001.

Rizzolo was released from federal prison in 2008 after serving time in a plea deal that ended a decade-long federal probe of allegations that his club had ties to organized crime.
