LAS VEGAS -- A 27-year-old man walking to work on Las Vegas Boulevard was killed Thursday morning by a hit-and-run driver.

Police have located the alleged hit-and-run driver in North Las Vegas. A witness to the crash supplied police with the car's license plate number. Metro Police say the driver showed no signs of impairment from drugs or alcohol and the incident is still under investigation.

Police say the man was killed around 6:30 a.m. as he was walking to work at Catholic Charities on Las Vegas Boulevard and Washington Avenue. Police say, the pedestrian, who was walking on the sidewalk with another person, wasn't at fault. According to police, the driver of the pick up truck drove up onto the sidewalk and hit the man.

This is the 24th fatal traffic collision in Metro's jurisdiction this year.
