Homeowners in need can find assistance this weekend via the office of Nevada Senator Harry Reid.

Representatives from Reid’s office will partner with the Nevada Affordable Housing Assistance Corporation to host a mortgage assistance workshop from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the East Las Vegas Community/Senior Center, 250 N. Eastern Ave.

Homeowners with a second mortgage and those that are currently unemployed or underemployed may be eligible for assistance from Nevada’s Hardest Hit Fund, which is $196 million in federal funding brought to the state to help struggling homeowners. This is the third mortgage assistance workshop that Senator Reid has hosted in southern Nevada this year.

Attendees must bring the following financial documents to apply for programs through the Hardest Hit Fund:

Proof of income:

  • Most recent tax return
  • Latest paystub or unemployment benefits or Social Security award letter (proof of SS)
  • Profit & Loss Statement if self employed

Proof of assets:

  • Most recent bank statement(s) (no copies)

Mortgage info:

  • Most recent mortgage statement(s) for all home loans
