Life is Beautiful Festival Schedule and Map Released

The organizers of the Life is Beautiful Festival announced the schedule and released a map for the music, food, art and learning festival set for Oct. 26 and 27 downtown.

The festival will take over 15 city blocks and include five stages, two chef demonstrations, culinary village, craft cocktails area and pop-art gallery space.

Streets impacted by the festival will include Carson Avenue, Las Vegas Boulevard, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th streets along with Fremont Street.

Parking options and shuttle service are available from the World Market Center and from hotels on the Strip.

Las Vegas' own Imagine Dragons will play the downtown stage on the first night at 7 p.m. The final band of the opening night on that stage will be Kings of Leon.

Another Las Vegas band, The Killers, will close out the festival Sunday with a show downtown starting at 9:40 p.m.

Downtown Barcade will Host Hometown Heroes Exhibition

The whole family is invited to an event this weekend to benefit the Downtown Boys & Girls Club.

The downtown bar and arcade Insert Coin(s) will host the second annual Hometown Heroes Exhibition Sunday.

From 1 to 7 p.m., guests will be able to watch BMX demonstrations, participate in raffles and enjoy a street party in the Fremont East Entertainment District.

Following the street party, Insert Coin(s) will host an after party inside its venue for guests 21 and over. Bar proceeds from the entire night will be donated in support of the Downtown Boys & Girls Club.

The entire event will be hosted by BMX pro and MTV reality star Richardo Laguna.

Louie Anderson to Headline at the Plaza Hotel & Casino

Louie Anderson returns to Las Vegas as he takes up comedic residency at the Plaza Hotel & Casino in the downtown casino’s showroom.

Fresh off his success on the ABC celebrity diving series “Splash,” Anderson is glad to be back on dry land. 

“Diving is a lot like stand-up,” Anderson said. “You can't go back once you're up there. There's only a shame walk. I gotta dive into the audience or dive into the pool.”
