The state government agency that oversees unemployment and employment assistance also offers a day labor service, according to a department release.

Nevada’s Department of Employment, Training & Rehabilitation (DETR), continues to offer a free service for residents and businesses in Nevada to hire temporary workers on the spot. Each day, workers show up to the Day Labor Offices and wait for work assignments.

The majority of workers are available to do odd jobs, such as yard work and moving, said Renee Olson, administrator for DETR’s Employment Security Division.
