Metro and Community Leaders Holding Rally Against Violence

 

Metro Police and community leaders want to rally neighbors in one Las Vegas valley neighborhood in the wake of a shooting early Saturday morning.

Officers were called to a neighborhood near Owens Avenue and H Street just after midnight Saturday for reports of a shooting. When police got to the scene, they found that a group of people were having a party at a home in the area, when unknown assailants started shooting at the group.

Six people were hurt, one critically. At first, witnesses and victims were not cooperative with police. As the investigation has continued, however, police have been able to generate several leads.

At 5 p.m. Tuesday at in the 1700 block of Curran Way, where the shooting happened, officers and community leaders will hold a rally in hopes of gathering more information about the crime and to help the community heal.

Police Search for 2 Men in Armed Robbery

 

Metro Police are searching for two men who robbed a business near Jones Boulevard and Vegas Drive.

According to police, the men walked into the business at about 7:45 p.m. February 19. Once inside, one of the men pulled out a gun and demanded money from the employees.

The employees gave the men money and several pieces of property.

The first man is described as a white man, who is 5-foot-11 and between 200 and 230 pounds. The second man used a bandana to cover his face, but he is a white man, who is 5-foot-8 and between 160 and 180 pounds.

Police Search for Man Who Robbed Check Cashing Business

 

Metro Police are looking for a man who robbed a check cashing business near Jones and Lake Mead boulevards two different times.

According to police, the first robbery happened February 7 and the second February 11. They also happened between 8 and 9 a.m. The man wears a mask but eyewitnesses describe him as being between 5-foot-9 and 6-foot and between 155 and 200 pounds.

Police Search for Man Who Robbed Store

 

Metro Police are searching for a man who robbed a convenience store near Maryland Parkway and Bonneville Avenue.

According to police, at about 10:10 a.m. January 29, the man entered the store and lingered, pretending to be a customer until all the other customers left.

He then went behind the counter, pulled out a gun, demanded money and threatened the employee. The employee gave the robber money, and he left.

The man police are looking for is described as a black man in his 40s. He is 6-foot with medium build. He was last seen wearing a black hoodie and light blue jeans.
