A Las Vegas woman is under arrest accused of stealing a car then running into the owner.

Metro Police officers arrested 26-year-old Veronica Gonzalez on charges of robbery and grand larceny auto.

According to police, a crossing guard was working at a crosswalk near Pinedale Avenue and Antelope Way, which is near Alta Drive and Rainbow Boulevard, when he noticed someone trying to steal his car.

The victim tried to stop the suspect from taking his car but was pushed to the ground when she sped away.

The suspect then sped through the neighborhood before hitting another car. Gonzalez tried to leave the scene on foot but witnesses caught her.

The citizens held her until police arrived.
