A Las Vegas man is under arrest in connection with the shooting of two men.

According to the arrest report released by Metro Police, officers arrested 24-year-old John Obote Tuesday following an investigation into a shooting that happened early Sept. 17.

Police say Obote shot the victims, Jerome Jackson and Anthony Eagles, following a fight between Obote's sister and her child's father, who is Jackson's brother. The fight and shooting happened at a home near H Street and Owens Avenue.

Obote told police he fired at the men after one of them showed that he had a semi-automatic gun in his the waistband of his pants. He also said the men punched his brother and threatened his family with baseball bats.

Obote has been charged with two counts of attempted murder and two counts of battery with a deadly weapon.
