Trauma Support Program Seeks Volunteers

The non-profit Trauma Intervention Program (TIP) of Southern Nevada, Inc. is currently recruiting compassionate citizens to serve on its emergency response crisis team to help people on the worst day of their life.

TIP of Southern Nevada began serving the citizens of Clark County in 1994. TIP is committed to helping those in crisis by providing immediate on-scene support to those emotionally traumatized. TIP volunteers are requested by local police, fire and hospital personnel to respond to scenes of sudden or unexpected death, violent crimes, sexual assault and other traumatic events to provide emotional and practical support to family, friends, witnesses or victims.

TIP volunteers must have a clean criminal and driving history. Volunteers are required to attend a training academy, pass a three-month field training program and attend a monthly continuing education meeting. Volunteers are also required to commit to three 12-hour shifts per month. Citizens interested in becoming a TIP volunteer may visit www.tipoflasvegas.org or call 288-0906.
