Las Vegas Prom Closet began serving Southern Nevada in 2003, when a group of local women joined forces to provide opportunities for high school-aged children living in foster care to attend their proms. Over the past seven years, Las Vegas Prom Closet has provided more than 1,000 dresses free of charge to girls who would have not otherwise been able to attend their prom activities.

Working with local school counselors, child-related charities and the foster system, the aim of those volunteering with LV Prom Closet is to provide a dress to any girl that wants one and is not able to afford one. The LV Prom Closet provides a store-like setting with a wide variety of dress choices for the girls, organized on racks by size, dressing rooms and volunteers to help with style decisions when called upon. The Las Vegas Prom Closet is staffed, organized and run by volunteers. All donations - goods, services and funds – go directly to the benefit of the students.
