Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman cut the ribbon on a new Neon Museum Park in downtown.

The $2 million dollar park features picnic benches, walking trails, parking and a storage area for neon signs that aren't currently on display. The park sits beside the Neon Museum. Funding for the park was provided by the Bureau of Land Management's land swap program where land owned by the bureau was sold to buy park and sensitive areas around the state.

The mayor also broke ground for the new Neon Museum visitors center. The center will be an entryway into the Neon Museum Boneyard.

"The Neon Museum is one of the most beloved cultural attractions in Las Vegas, drawing national and international attention and acclaim," said Bill Marion, chairman of the board.
