Fremont Street turned green Monday afternoon for the first Las Vegas Irish Firefighter St. Patrick's Day Parade and Firefighter Fun Challenge.

The parade, which was along Fremont Street to Las Vegas Boulevard, included bagpipes, honor guards and floats.

The Firefighter Fun Challenge included a wheel barrel race, dummy throw and hose toss. It was open to all departments, stations, and platoons.

"This is our way of integrating and supporting the community. We have the whole city government inside on a retreat today. This is just another great way to show our community support," Downtown Grand CEO Seth Schorr said.

The family-friendly festivities including live music, entertainment by Irish step dancers and face painting sponsored by Hogs & Heifers Saloon were held at Downtown Third until 6:30 p.m.
