Pool Party for Homeless Teens Set for Saturday

A pool party is set for Saturday for homeless teens around southern Nevada.

The Las Vegas Municipal Pool and Las Vegas City Councilman Ricki Barlow will host the Teen Luau from 2 to 5 p.m., at the pool at 431 East Bonanza Road.

The event is being organized by the Clark County Black Youth Caucus. The caucus was awarded a grant by the Youth Neighborhood Association Partnership Program. The program is giving out $1,000 grants to youth working to improve their communities.

In addition to the fun of the pool party, there will be resources for the teens, a motivational speech by councilman Barlow, plus food and beverages from 7-Eleven.

“I am most proud of this event because it is designed by our very own local youth to give homeless teens an opportunity to celebrate the end of summer with their peers,” Councilman Barlow said.
