Kids in Need Get New Shoes

A local charity that works to provide footwear to kids in need received help from the Wal-Mart Foundation to complete their mission.

Goodie Two Shoes received a $66,000 grant to help buy socks and shoes for disadvantaged children. The check was presented to the organization during a special event Friday at McWilliams Elementary School.

As part of the event, 400 children were given new shoes and socks. Goodie Two Shoes handed out the shoes from their mobile shoe store on wheels. Children could choose any pair of shoes they like.  Each child received a personal fitting to make sure he or she got the best shoe for his or hear age and size.

Every year, Goodie Two Shoes works to help 10,000 southern Nevada children.
