Job Fair to Fill Tech Company Positions

A job fair coming to town next week will offer positions in a number of fields.

The city of Las Vegas and Barrister Global Services Network, Inc., an information technology services company headquartered in Hammond, La., will hold a job fair on from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 26 at City Hall, 400 Stewart Ave.

Barrister plans to open a new operations facility in the city of Las Vegas and is looking to hire for various positions by Sept. 15. Positions will include telephone technical support for personal computers and printers, channel developers, business developers, client relationship specialists and technician assignment group staff. Job descriptions will be available at the fair.

The new Barrister facility, which will be located at the city’s Development Services Center building at 333 N. Rancho Drive, will serve multiple purposes, including providing new jobs for local Las Vegans, diversifying Barrister's operations for disaster recovery, allowing easier access to their growing number of West Coast customers, and providing the company an alternative location for service operations.

Residents with similar job experiences who are interested in these new jobs are encouraged to bring their resumes as well as completed applications. Applications can be found online at http://www.lasvegasnevada.gov/ward5. Applications will also be available at the job fair. Barrister representatives will be on hand to accept applications and provide a brief overview of the company. Applicants should park in the covered parking garage at Las Vegas Boulevard and Stewart. The line will form in the outdoor plaza area of the first floor of City Hall. Parking in the garage will be free.
