Free Museum Admission This Weekend

 

If you want to take the kids to a local museum, this weekend might be the best time for it.

The Las Vegas Natural History Museum, Lied Discovery Children’s Museum and, Springs Preserve will all offer free admission to Bank of America and Merrill Lynch cardholders on November 3 and 4.

Photo ID and a valid Bank of America/Merrill Lynch credit or debit card must be presented at the time of your visit. One free general admission limited to each cardholder at a participating museum, excluding fundraising events, special exhibitions and ticketed shows the first full weekend (Saturday and Sunday) of each month.

The program is in effect on the first full weekend of each month. The next ‘Museums on Us’ weekend is December 1-2.

Art Event Leads 50th Season for Ski Resort

 

An upscale art event will kick off the 50th anniversary season of the Las Vegas Ski and Snowboard Resort.

Who’s On Board, a red carpet event at Amanda Harris Gallery of Contemporary Art and The Lady Silvia in downtown Las Vegas, will take place Friday, Nov. 16. The event includes a cocktail reception, art show and a silent auction, with the invitation-only part of the event running from 6 to 8 p.m. and doors opening to the public thereafter.

LVSSR officials challenged 50 local artists to create original pieces using snowboard cutouts as their canvases. A variety of local artists are involved in the exhibit including graffiti artist Ras One, who owns POP2 Cultural Arts Center, sculptor Miguel Rodriguez and tattoo artist Serene Temple, among others.
