Miss America Visits Las Vegas Academy Today | Arts & Culture
Miss America plays the piano and she’ll do it Thursday afternoon in Las Vegas.
Teresa Scanlan, the 2011 Miss America, will be on stage at the Las Vegas Academy Lowden Theater, 315 S. 7th Street, at 1 p.m.
Students will welcome Scanlan and will participate in a Master Class where she will play the piano. Scanlan won the talent portion of the Miss America Pageant with a piano performance of “White Water Chopped Sticks” and she will be sharing her performance knowledge with the students of the Academy.
The Academy offers students in grades 9 through 12 the opportunity to pursue majors in dance, vocal music, instrumental music, international studies, piano, theatre or theatre technology, and visual arts. In addition, students take all of their academic classes at the Academy.
