Fire damages motel in downtown Las Vegas

Clark County fire crews battled a 2-alarm fire at The New Hope motel in downtown Las Vegas Tuesday afternoon.

The hotel is located at 2805 Fremont Street, near Charleston Avenue. The fire started just before 4 p.m. Due to windy conditions, it took nearly 50 firefighters to bring the blaze under control.

The motel is a shelter and recovery home for homeless people. More than 90 people have been displaced by the fire.

There is no word yet on what started the fire.
