Metro: El Cortez shooting occurred between rival motorcycle gangs

Metro released the mugshots of three people arrested in a shooting at the El Cortez Hotel and Casino located in the 600 block of Fremont Street. According to officers, everything unfolded early Saturday morning around 1:44 a.m. when members of rival motorcycle gangs got into an argument on the 5th floor of the hotel.

When Metro Police arrived at the El Cortez, they found two men on the casino floor who were suffering from gunshot wounds. After officers realized the shooting took place on the 5th floor, they sent a team of
officers upstairs and that's when they found two additional victims.

All four of the victims were transported to UMC Trauma where three victims suffered non-life-threatening injuries, and the fourth was listed in critical condition.

A description of three suspects and a description of a vehicle they were riding in was sent out to patrol officers. Just after 1 p.m. Saturday afternoon, the vehicle was seen in the 1500 block of East Bonanza Road and the three suspects were said to be in it.

Officers conducted a vehicle stop and arrested 35-year-old Travis Callahan, 34-year-old, Matthew Norris, and 30-year-old Roberto Romero for their alleged part in the shooting.

They were all transported to the Clark County Detention Center where they all face charges of attempted murder (4 counts each) and conspiracy to commit murder (4 counts each).
