Sign Installed at Symphony Park |
Title (Max 100 Charaters)
Installation started Tuesday for the sign that will greet visitors at Symphony Park.
Crews lifted the 38-foot-tall sign into place using a 40-foot-crane. The sign is expected to be up and running February 20. The new sign is at the main entrance to the 61-acre centerpiece of downtown redevelopment.
Symphony Park will be home to a variety of different developments. The Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health is already open. The Smith Center for the Performing Arts and a connecting park are set to open in March. In November, the Discovery Children’s Museum will open there as well.
As for the sign, it is made of structural steel tube, polycarbonate cladding and corrugate aluminum. It is illuminated with energy-efficient LED lights.
"It will be lit from the inside and glow in the dark, so to speak, with a beautiful warm glow. It is not finished yet. What you are seeing is only partially finished but over the next couple of weeks it will unfold and come to life," Daniel VanEpp with Symphony Park said.
Crews are also working on infrastructure improvements for the northern half of Symphony Park. That project is slated to be finished by March 12. When finished, it will complete a north-south connector street.
